I bet you’ve never taken the time to consider what your nutritional needs may be, or the importance that nutrition has on your health. Did you know that if the brain does not have enough protein does not develop properly, or if a woman with a healthy body does not have enough flax oil, omega 3 and omega 6, your metabolism will not function properly and it will be more likely to gain weight? All our nutritional needs are reduced to our eating habits, good or bad, with differing consequences depending on us to use.
Nutrition applied to our everyday lives means that we need to keep our body in a healthy state. Nutrition has taken important in many countries due to policies about our daily food needs and determining what is healthy and what is dangerous for consumption. Likewise, today it has begun to use nutrition as a kind of preventive medicine for certain diseases, ailments and lead a healthy life.
Now what is our responsibility for nutrition? Do we know what our requirements, how to satisfy and how to find real nutritional value in our foods? I’m not sure you understand nutrition in all its dimensions. In general we tend to relate it to the intake of vitamins or fortified cereals and milk and in the context that we need “nutritional value” of our food choices. But what nutrition really means when we apply to our daily functions?
Nutrition refers to the nurturing of our body, our ability to keep it healthy and functioning as it’s supposed to. Our ability to provide the body with all the necessary food, vitamins and minerals for the continued progress in our daily tasks.
And how do we determine that we are giving our body what it needs in nutrition? That knowledge comes from educating ourselves on our individual needs, then take that knowledge to apply to the food we buy, which prepare and consume them with our family. Our nutritional and caloric needs change depending on different factors such as age and activity level among other things. They are not the same needs of a 14 years that a woman of 30.
Very often happens that our needs for vitamins and minerals are well below what we should consume. In such cases we tend to consume vitamin supplements to complete the requirements. This is also part of nutritional requirements.
Nutrition is one of the most complex areas to gain experience since many of the components involved, and because each person has individual needs. The women differ from men, and a grown man differ from those of a child. As we age our needs change, therefore a constant education on the subject is essential. The information we have the item changes daily. To stay healthy is nutrition, exercise, mental health needs as well as emotional to think about.
