There is considerable documentation that discusses the anticancer potential of the seeds of apricots especially for its content of vitamin B 17. This vitamin has been widely used against cancer, with positive results, but considered scientifically unproven. Several documents contain statements regarding the interests of transnational pharmaceutical act against these initiatives and against others based on treatments using natural products.

Saito Hitomi and her fellow Doshisha University in Japan have been monitoring 101 patients of the Obesity Clinical Hospital of Kansai Medical University for 6 months. And have found that those who start treatment of thinning with a personality that tends to optimism lose weight more slowly, while those who are able to improve their self esteem along the thinning treatment more quickly than their peers.
The results confirm the findings of previous studies on how some negative emotions (pessimism, low self esteem, …) promote behavioral changes.
